Pictures of the functional processor being tested for leaks.
The processor is now functional. I haven't yet made any biodiesel with it but I did put 5 gallons of oil into the system to check for leaks.
Priming the pump was a little tricky, as advertised, but I think I figured out an easy way to get it primed. After it was primed I was very surprised at how well it performed. I thought it would be pretty whimpy but that little $23 pump can really move the liquid!
Here's the method I used to prime the pump:
On the valve comng out of the pump outlet, not the one leading to the top of the processor, I added a hose with a funnel on the end. I clamped the funnel to the side of the cabinet. Then I opened the valve and added oil to the funnel. Once the hose was full I carefully losened the screw on the pump where you are supposed to pour oil to get it primed. I opened the screw enough to let the air in the pump escape. Once oil started coming out of the screw I tighted it back up. Then I closed the valve and removed the hose with the funnel. I opened the valves leading the the fill hose and fired the system up. It worked like a charm.
